New Buffalo, MI

We went to Michigan for our first family vacation this past week. We stayed in the most wonderful inn in New Buffalo...I wish we could just take it with us no matter where we want to go on vacation! Here are a couple of pictures of our suite. It had a full kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, and 2 bedrooms.
There was even an inn cat, who Blake loved and she was so tolerant of him. He had to look for Claire every time we went outside.
Blake strolling on the beach... I love how determined he looks, even from behind.
Blake and Daddy at St. Joseph beach... New Buffalo was a cute little town, but there wasn't a lot going on there so we headed to St. Joseph for a day. It was so windy the day we were there. Check out the waves in the background.
Blake, Cole, and me outside of the Curious Kids Museum... This was in St. Joseph too, and it was such a neat place for the kids. It was totally hands on and there was so much for them to do.
Captain Blake
Feeding the dinosaurs at the museum...this was by far his favorite thing to do there.
Blake and Daddy building a house... They built their house, then pushed a button and watched the earthquake knock it down.
Cole enjoying the museum...
Happy boys enjoying vacation...
Bear with me as I overload you with beach pictures. I didn't know where to stop. Can you really have too many pictures of adorable little boys playing on the beach?
We knew that Blake was a water bug, but we didn't know how Cole would do. I think this picture says it all...
He really was enjoying this, despite the look on his face!
Our little beach bum...this is how Cole spent the majority of his morning naps.
Could he be any more excited?
So stinkin' cute!
Our big swimmer...this guy is fearless in the water!
My favorite picture of the whole trip...this guy doesn't want to play in the sand, he wants the water! Whenever Cole doesn't like the texture of what he is crawling on, he gets up on all fours like this.
Blake and the seagulls--he was mesmerized by them. He loved to feed them and chase them.
Blake and Daddy in the harbor...
Mommy and the boys...
This is Blake in front of the "I Love Toy Trains" store. He thought it was "so cool", but I'm still confused as to why when we told him he could pick out one toy, he picked out a flashlight instead of a train!
Feeding the seagulls on our last night at the beach... Mommy with Blake and Cole Daddy and Cole at the lighthouse on New Buffalo Beach... Our happy family on the last night... We had such a wonderful, relaxing time--we will definitely go back again. I think the boys are both fans of vacation too.

9 Months!

Cole's 9 month birthday was on August 7th. He had his checkup today with Dr. Walters. Here are the details: Weight: 19 lb. 2.5oz. (26%) Length: 29 in. (73%) Cole is officially crawling and has been for about 4 weeks now. He's a speedy little guy and never stays in one place for too long. It's made his relationship with Blake a little more challenging because of course Cole wants everything Blake has, and now that he's mobile he just helps himself. He's decided he's not a fan of baby food so he eats a lot of regular food too. He just got his first 2 teeth! He has been working on them for a couple of weeks--they have given him a pretty hard time, but I think we are past the worst of it. They just popped through at the end of last week. He's a sweetheart and we love him more every day!
