Christmas time again...

Our first visit of the year to see Santa was at Metropolis. Blake was so excited to see him and all day he kept telling us he was going to sit on Santa's lap, but as you can see it didn't work out that way. Blake changed his mind once we got there, so we ended up with a family picture instead. He did tell Santa what he wants for Christmas though ( a train) and gave him a high five, so it wasn't a total loss.
Our second visit to Santa was at Grandpa's lodge Christmas party. Here are Blake and Daddy opening his stocking from Santa.
This time Blake needed a little coaxing with a cookie to get close to Santa.
But, he eventually warmed up and talked Santa's ear off. He still wouldn't sit in his lap though...
Cole did make it to Santa's lap...who cares that he was totally oblivious!

It's been a while...

Blake has turned into such a great big brother. We had a couple of weeks that were kind of rough, but now he is doing so great. He loves to hold Cole and tries to share his toys with him. He gets little frustrated that Cole doesn't seem to care when he gives him something and he keeps saying "Look Cole!" Whenever Cole cries, Blake will get right in his face and say "Come here Cole, what's the matter?" It is the most adorable thing. I hope they will be best buddies!
It's hard to believe it, but Cole is already one month old today! Here is the monthly picture with the bear. He's getting bigger already! At his one month appointment he weighed in at 8lb 12.5oz.
These next two pictures are some professional ones we had taken so please don't print them out! We would hate to take advantage of our nice photographer, but I wanted to share them with you because they are so cute!

Just Because He's So Cute...

I know I have been terrible about posting new pictures, but I promise to get better! Here are a few of our littlest handsome man. I'll try to get some good ones of the boys together and post them soon.

Life With 2 Little Guys...Week 1

Our first week home with Cole has been an adventure, but a good adventure. We brought him home last Saturday night and had the evening to settle in before Blake came home on Sunday. We found out Sunday afternoon that his bilirubin was a little high, so they had a bili blanket delivered to the house late Sunday evening. Here's a picture of our glowing little guy. The jaundice makes him sleep a lot, so while of course we want everything to be okay and for him to be healthy, it is helping make the transition from a family of three to a family of four a little easier.
Cole's first bath...obviously he hated it, but he hates to be undressed and cold. Now that his umbilical cord has fallen off, we can submerge him in the water which we're hoping will make things easier.
Blake has been such a great big brother and quite the little helper...sometimes a little too much of a helper!
Blake loves to hold Cole and give him kisses. He gets right in his face and says "Hi buddy!" It's the cutest thing....although I'm not sure Cole likes it all that much. Blake really has surpassed our expectations with his behavior so far. He has his moments, but those are to be expected with a two year old.
Before Blake was born, I heard a great idea to take your baby's picture with the same object every month so you can see how big he is getting. I forgot to do it with Blake, so hopefully I'll remember with Cole! Here's the newborn picture...

Halloween

This year for Halloween, Blake was a lion! It was his first time trick-or-treating and we weren't sure how it would go, but he loved it! He went up to the doors and said "trick or treat" then he would help himself to some candy and say "thank you". We were shocked at how well he did. And we were even more shocked that he kept the hood up the whole time on his lion costume..it was a miracle!

Apple Orchard

A couple of weeks ago, we went to visit some friends in Elkhart and got to go to a fun apple orchard. This is Blake and his friend Noah--they got to pick their apples right off the tree and eat them. They were delicious!
Our little model...look at that big smile!

All we need is the baby...

We finally finished Cole's room, so I thought I would post some pictures so you can see it. The only thing missing is him!
Here I am at 36 weeks...I am now a little over 37 weeks and getting a little (ok- a lot) antsy since Blake had already made his big arrival by this point. I guess Cole is going to be our patient one. Here's his room...
And because we can't leave anyone out, here is Blake's new big boy room. He is so proud of it...whenever anyone comes over he has to show them his new room. Even if they have seen it a dozen times!
